ELEMENTARY CURRICULUM

Elementary Classes start from Grade 1 to Grade 6. The elementary curriculum builds a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Elementary students learn best when their learning involves exploration and inquiry, with hands-on activities and application that engage all of their senses. Hence, the Alberta Education curriculum for elementary grades focuses on teaching through  Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL). IBL is an approach that enables students to increase their problem solving abilities through the application of prior knowledge and skills to build direct and meaningful correlations to solve a given problem or situation. Questioning, project based learning and subjects interrelation permits students to broaden their thinking scope, increase their level of concentration and application resulting in better learning outcomes.
